About the Test
1. The NMAT-2010 is a computer based test with three sections
– Quantitative Ability, Language Skills and Logical Reasoning.
2. The NMAT-2010 consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s
Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation
and Data Sufficiency and Intelligence and Logical Reasoning.
3. The NMAT-2010 is a 2 hour test and has 120 multiple choice
questions.
Registration
1. Candidates can register for the NMAT-2010 through an online
registration application available on website www.pearsonvueindia.com/nmat.
Online registrations will close at 5:00 PM IST on 6th December
2009. NMIMS shall not accept registrations from candidates
in any other mode or form.
2. Confirmation of completed registration and payment will
be sent by electronic mail only. NMIMS shall not be held
responsible for non-receipt of confirmation e-mails or bouncing
of e-mails.
3. Registration applications submitted without the proper
notified registration fee or insufficient or incorrect details
or payment received beyond the specified closing time and
date for submitting the registration application will be
summarily rejected and NMIMS shall not entertain any queries
with respect to the same.
4. Candidates need to ensure that the information submitted
by them is correct in all respects. In case any of the information
is found to be incorrect at a later date, NMIMS shall have
the right to cancel the test score. In the event of the
cancellation of the score due to furnishing of incorrect
information, the registration fee paid by the candidate
will not be refunded.
5. There is no provision for on-the-spot registration for
the NMAT-2010 on the day of the test. Candidates have to
follow the prescribed registration process published on
the NMAT website www.pearsonvueindia.com/nmat.
6. Only one registration can be made by paying in the manner
judged most suitable by the candidate. Duplicate registrations
are liable to be rejected.
7. Corrections to a submitted application are possible till
the last date of registration on 6th December 2009 by 5:00
PM IST.
8. An application is considered valid only if submission
is made and the registration fee is received by NMIMS by
the due date. Registration applications, for which the registration
fee is not received in time, will be rejected outright.
9. NMIMS will make every attempt to allocate the test location/centre
and date of test as per the preferences entered by the candidate
in his/her registration form for NMAT 2010. However, the final
allocation of test location/centre and test date for NMAT 2010
will be based on seat availability, and NMIMS’s decision in
this regard shall be final and binding. NMIMS and/or Pearson
VUE will not be liable for any claims or damages arising from
non-allocation of the candidate’s preferred test location/centre
and/or test date.
Registration Fees
1. For appearing in the NMAT-2010 test, a registration fee
of Rs. 1650 only (for candidates testing in India) and Rs. 5000
only (for candidates testing outside India) is payable by the
candidate. Payment for test fee for candidates testing within
India will be accepted in INR by credit card, DD and cash deposit
at designated Axis bank branches. Payment for test fee for candidates
testing outside India will be accepted by credit card only.
2. NMIMS will not be held responsible for late or non-delivery
of any material or information sent by it through electronic
mail. No refunds will be issued to candidates who: (1) fail
to appear for a scheduled test; (2) reach late at the testing
centre on the test date; (3) fail to meet the ID and confirmation
e-mail requirements; and/or (4) fail to meet or violate
NMAT-2010 test rules and policies.
3. NMIMS shall not allow any candidate to sit for the test
in case the online payment received from the candidate is
repudiated. No such repudiation will be permitted after
the expiry of thirty days from the date of payment in case
of payment by credit card. Any requests made after the time
period of repudiation will not be entertained and the amount
so paid will be forfeited.
4. Late Registration - Candidates shall be allowed to register for one week after the close of regular registration provided they pay a late registration fee of Rs. 500 per application (for candidates within India) and Rs. 1000 (for candidates outside India). Candidates are advised to visit the website www.pearsonvueindia.com/nmat periodically to note any changes to the published dates.
Refund of Registration Fee
1. No refund of registration fee will be made by NMIMS once
the registration application is satisfactorily accepted.
2. All applicants who complete the test registration, pay the
test fee by the prescribed date and follow published test rules
may sit for the NMAT-2010. It is the responsibility of the candidate
to understand the eligibility requirements of NMIMS before deciding
to register for the NMAT-2010. If the candidate registers for
the test and then determines that he/she is ineligible for admission
to the program of his/her choice, no test-fee refund will be

Confirmation E-mail
1. Only candidates whose registration application has been properly completed in all respects, received by NMIMS within the stipulated time and who have paid the applicable test fee will be entitled to take the NMAT-2010 test for academic year starting in 2010. NMIMS will send the confirmation e-mail to candidates whose registration applications have been accepted. The confirmation e-mail will include the unique candidate ID number generated at the time of registration which shall be the candidate’s "registration number”.
2. Confirmation e-mails of eligible candidates, whose registration requirements are complete in all respects, would be sent beginning 14th December 2009.
3. NMIMS is not responsible for any non-receipt of confirmation
e-mails due to incorrect e-mail addresses being entered
by the applicant or due to any technical problems with receipt
of e-mail. Candidates who do not receive their confirmation
e-mails by 10th January 2010 can call the helpdesk number
published on www.pearsonvueindia.com/nmat
to seek assistance.
Differently Abled Candidates
1. In case of a candidate with a vision or mobility impairment,
he/she is required to state the same in the registration
application. A scribe will be available to assist candidates
with vision impairments and mobility assistance will be
available for those with mobility impairments.
2. NMIMS reserves the right to make the final judgment regarding
testing accommodations in accordance with NMAT-2010’s requirements.
Re-scheduling or Cancellation of Test
1. Candidates can re-schedule their test once they have received
the confirmation e-mail from NMIMS for the NMAT-2010 by
paying an additional fee.
2. Candidates requesting to cancel their test will have their
fee forfeited.
Day of the Test
Instructions
1. Candidates are required to reach the test centre thirty
minutes before the scheduled time of their test. Candidates
reporting later than fifteen minutes after the scheduled time
will not be admitted. No requests for exceptions will be entertained
in this regard. The test centre may not be air conditioned but a comfortable environment will be provided.
2. The candidate needs to bring the following to the test
centre:
a. Confirmation e-mail printout, without which they will
not be allowed to take the test
b. One primary ID and one secondary ID from the list below:

PAN card (Only for candidates testing within India)

Note: Learner’s driving license
is not allowed as either Primary or Secondary ID.
3. Candidates who are unable to produce the above forms of
valid ID will not be admitted into the testing room and shall
not be offered a test-fee refund.
4. The test invigilator after checking the printout of the
confirmation e-mail of the candidate will admit the candidate
by taking their digital photo and signature. The invigilator
will then guide the candidate to the computer where they will
be seated to take their test.
5. Candidates who refuse to be photographed or provide signature
on the digital pad at the test centre will not be allowed
to test.
6. The test contains several sections. Each section contains
several questions. The candidate must read the instructions
given for each group of questions in each section of the test
carefully. If he/she skips the instructions, he/she may miss
the main idea and lose credit for some questions in that section.
7. After the test is over, candidates are required to remain
seated until the invigilator closes the test window on their
assigned computer screen.
Admitting the Candidate and Valid ID
1. Candidates will be required to show ID which is not expired
and have recognizable photograph and signature.
2. Candidates must arrive at the test venue at least thirty
minutes prior to scheduled start time of the test.
3. Persons accompanying the candidate will not be allowed
into the test premises and no waiting area will be provided.
4. Candidates must adhere to the NMAT-2010 policies, rules
and regulations.
5. Invigilators shall have the right to exclude candidates
who fail to follow the test centre rules and procedures.
6. Invigilators will not be expected to provide or collect
any registration applications from candidates.
7. Only pre-registered candidates who have the confirmation
e-mail printouts will be permitted to take the NMAT-2010.
Prohibited Items
1. Candidates must not carry any articles such as cell phones,
calculators, pens, weapons, etc., as only a confirmation
e-mail printout and two valid photo IDs are required for
the test and all other articles would have to be left outside
the testing room at the candidate’s own risk.
2. Candidates will not have access to their personal belongings
except food and medication, if any, during the breaks they
take.
Break Policy
1. There are no scheduled breaks in the NMAT-2010. However
candidates can take unscheduled breaks if they want during
the test session. An unscheduled break means a break where
the test clock does not stop. If candidates choose to take
a break, they lose out on the actual time allocated to complete
the test.
2. During the break, candidates must leave the testing room.
Upon re-entering the testing room, they must show a valid
ID.
3. Candidates will not be allowed to access any personal
belonging including study material and mobile phone during
the break(s) they take. They will only be allowed to access
food or medication, if any.
Instructions for Answering Questions
1. Candidates must carefully read the instructions given in
the test before marking their answers.
2. Candidates will have to mark the correct answer with a
mouse click.
3. Candidates can mark questions for review and come back
to them after completing the section or the test, within
the stipulated test time.
4. NMIMS would not entertain any request for re-evaluation
of the test by any candidate.
Misconduct
1. Any attempt to impersonate, or to copy answers from, another
candidate or to indulge in any other malpractice during
the test or while filling in the application, would not
only lead to immediate or later revocation of scores but
may also lead to prosecution. Detection of any such malpractice
at any stage including after the NMAT-2010 is conducted,
may lead to disqualification and revocation of test scores
by NMIMS.
2. All disputes in this regard are subject to the legal jurisdiction
of Mumbai, India.
